How a Draw Works

Competition closes
When a competition sells out or hits its deadline, entries are locked. No new tickets, no changes β the entry list is final and timestamped.
We call RANDOM.ORG
PrizeWoo requests a random number from RANDOM.ORG's Signed API β an external, independent source trusted across science and gaming since 1998.
True atmospheric randomness
RANDOM.ORG generates the number from atmospheric noise β genuine physical randomness, not a computer's predictable pseudo-random algorithm.
Cryptographic signature
The result is signed with RANDOM.ORG's private key. This signature mathematically proves the number came from them and was never altered.
Winner selected
That signed number maps directly to the winning ticket. There is no human choice, no override, no way for us to nudge it.
Published for everyone
The full signed record is posted on the results page so anyone β you, a journalist, a sceptic β can verify it independently.

QCould PrizeWoo just pick the number it wants?
No. The number comes from RANDOM.ORG and is signed with their private key. If we changed a single digit, the signature would fail verification β and anyone checking would instantly see it was tampered with.
QWhat is "atmospheric noise"?
Computers can only produce pseudo-random numbers from formulas, which are technically predictable. RANDOM.ORG instead measures real-world atmospheric radio noise to produce true randomness that cannot be predicted or reproduced.
QDo I need to be technical to verify?
Not really. The verification tool does the maths for you β you paste the signed record and it tells you whether it is genuine. We also publish a plain-English walkthrough for every draw.
QWhy should I trust RANDOM.ORG?
RANDOM.ORG has been operating since 1998 and is used widely in academic research, lotteries and gaming precisely because its randomness is independent and verifiable. They have no stake in who wins a PrizeWoo competition.
